Open Call for Marinella Senatore and The School of Narrative Dance Performance

An open call was held for Marinella Senatore and The School of Narrative Dance  in Cold Spring, New York.

The performance, a monumental procession and performative celebration of community, was held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 12:30 PM in Cold Spring.

This site-specific and community-led project started at the Veterans Monument on the lawn of St. Mary-in-the-Highlands, near the corner of Main Street and Route 9D, and moved through the streets of Cold Spring with about 3 hours of curated performance sequences and spontaneous improvisation.

Magazzino Italian Art sought non-professional dance enthusiasts from the Middle and Lower Hudson Valley to participate in the performance on November 16. In preparation for the performance, 2-3 hour choreography workshops was provided by choreographic and cultural duo Espz from November 4-15, 2019 in Cold Spring, N.Y. All participants were asked to attend one free preparatory workshop. 

No experience was required and all ages and genders are welcome.
