Melissa McGill: Red Regatta

On the evening of Friday, June 17, 2022, Magazzino Italian Art screened Melissa McGill: Red Regatta as the first feature in its annual summer film series, "Cinema in Piazza." This film by Venetian filmmaker Giovanni Pellegrini followed artist Melissa McGill’s independent public art project of the same name, which took place on the canals of Venice in 2019.

Prior to the film screening, a conversation between the artist Melissa McGill and Magazzino’s Curatorial and Programming Assistant, Chiara Mannarino, discussed the history, challenges, and outcomes of the project, as well as the accompanying publication, newly-released at the time of the event, Red Regatta.
